Mid-Size Car-HPC für Smart Logging: InoNet stellt die Mayflower®-Q5aW vor
With the Mayflower®-Q5aW, InoNet expands its automotive data logging portfolio with a new system class: a mid-size Car HPC designed specifically to meet the increasing demands of modern, data-driven vehicle development. Positioned between compact embedded platforms and traditional 19″ Car HPC servers, the system addresses the growing need for efficient, selective data processing directly within the vehicle.
Powered by the AMD® EPYC™ 8000 series, the Mayflower®-Q5aW combines high computing performance with energy-efficient operation. With a power consumption of up to 600 watts, it offers a powerful yet cost-effective platform for applications that require a well-balanced combination of performance, scalability, efficiency, and cost optimization. This makes it particularly well suited for advanced data acquisition approaches such as smart logging and edge data reduction, where data is preprocessed, compressed, and selectively filtered directly in the vehicle.
With up to 20 Ethernet ports, the Car HPC delivers a high interface density, enabling support for demanding in-vehicle networks and complex data acquisition tasks.
A key feature of the system is the integrated QuickTray®-v3, which allows seamless integration into the existing QuickTray® ecosystem. For high-performance data storage, the system uses a HighPoint Rocket 7528D PCIe Gen4 x16 to NVMe RAID Adapter. This controller manages up to four drives within the QuickTray®-v3 and controls the complete data flow as well as RAID configuration.
“HighPoint is proud to partner with InoNet to bridge the gap between high-velocity data acquisition and the rugged constraints of In-Vehicle environments. By integrating our Rocket 7528D NVMe RAID adapter into the Mayflower®-Q5aW, we are providing autonomous development teams with a foundation of uncompromising data integrity and performance. The ability to manage sixteen dedicated PCIe 4.0 lanes while leveraging hardware-level Opal SED security ensures that critical sensor data is not only captured at peak speeds but is also protected against the most demanding field conditions. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in making cost-effective, high-density storage a standard for the next generation of smart logging” May Hwang, VP Of Marketing at HighPoint Technologies.
The in-vehicle system is equipped with liquid cooling, ensuring reliable operation even under sustained high loads and in thermally demanding environments, such as extended test drives.
“With the Mayflower®-Q5aW, we enable targeted data processing and reduction directly within the vehicle,” says Paul Windermut, Product Manager at InoNet. “This reduces data volumes and significantly accelerates data analysis during development.”
Automotive data acquisition is currently undergoing a transition—from mass data logging to intelligent, efficient data processing at the edge. The Mayflower®-Q5aW is specifically designed to meet these evolving requirements, helping to reduce data volumes, lower costs, and accelerate development processes.
